Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Sustained Revenue & Net Income GrowthMulti-year top-line and net income expansion reflects durable loan-book growth and successful customer acquisition across retail, MSME and corporate segments. Persistent revenue growth supports net interest income, internal reinvestment and scale advantages that bolster earnings resilience over the medium term.
Strengthening Balance SheetMaterial asset and equity growth with moderate leverage increases the bank's capacity to originate loans and absorb shocks. A stronger capital base and stable returns on equity provide durable buffer for regulatory capital needs and enable measured expansion without immediate reliance on risky external funding.
Consistent Mid-Teen ProfitabilityStable mid-teen net margins indicate effective margin management and cost control across cycles. Sustained profitability supports internal cash generation (when stable), funds provisioning, and retention of earnings to support loan growth and dividend capacity, reinforcing long-term operational stability.
Bears Say
Severe Cash-Flow Swing In 2025A dramatic switch to large negative operating and free cash flow in 2025 points to material working-capital or timing issues. Such swings can constrain the bank's ability to fund loans internally, increase dependence on external funding, and raise the risk of forced liquidity measures if adverse conditions persist.
Inconsistent Free Cash Flow GrowthSharp negative FCF growth undermines predictability of internally generated funds even when a one-year recovery occurs. This inconsistency complicates capital allocation, reduces confidence in sustainable dividend or buyback capacity, and makes multi-quarter planning for loan growth or reserves more uncertain.
Volatile Debt Levels & Limited 2026 Leverage ClarityYear-to-year debt volatility combined with missing up-to-date leverage metrics reduces transparency on funding resilience. In a rising-rate or stressed funding environment, this uncertainty increases refinancing and margin risk, weakening confidence in the bank's ability to maintain a stable funding mix over the medium term.
