Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls Say
Cash Generation / Free Cash FlowTTM operating and free cash flow turned firmly positive after the 2024–2025 turnaround, with management reiterating $55–$75M FCF guidance and targeting ~65% EBITDA-to-FCF conversion. Durable FCF supports deleveraging, share repurchases and reinvestment even if revenue growth moderates.
Improved Leverage And LiquidityDebt reduction, a longer-dated credit facility and reported liquidity ($91M with $54M revolver available) materially lower refinancing risk and improve financial flexibility. This structural improvement gives management room for capex, M&A optionality, and disciplined buybacks while withstanding industry downturns.
Backlog, Bookings & Product CommercializationA record backlog, improving book-to-bill and clear product commercialization (DuraCoil, Unity ROV, DuraLine, FR-120 wins) provide multi-quarter revenue visibility and broaden end-markets. Growth in international and subsea lines diversifies revenues and builds a deeper installed base for recurring aftermarket sales.
Bears Say
Bottom-line Profitability / Shareholder ReturnsDespite operational fixes and positive operating cash flow, net income remains slightly negative, compressing ROE and limiting sustainable shareholder returns. Until consistent net profitability covers capital employed, equity returns and dividend prospects remain constrained over the next several quarters.
Product-mix Margin PressureRising share of lower-margin subsea orders and pass-through material costs can structurally compress gross and EBITDA margins even as revenue grows. Mix shifts can offset cost-savings gains and create volatility in operating margin sustainability, making earnings less predictable across cycles.
Cyclicality, Seasonality And Operational Disruption RiskThe business remains exposed to project timing, seasonal back-end weighted cash flows, delivery pushouts and consolidation-related absorption issues. Regional logistics disruptions (Middle East ~10% of sales) further risk revenue timing and working capital, complicating steady free-cash-flow generation across quarters.
