Analysts' Opinions Are Mixed on These Real Estate Stocks: Colliers International Group (NASDAQ: CIGI) and Opendoor Technologies (NASDAQ: OPEN)We see Mr. Nejatian’s hiring as a best-case scenario for Opendoor filling its CEO role, but getting the business to a position of health (particularly profitable growth) still requires significant progress, in our view. We do expect some material changes ahead with Mr. Nejatian’s efforts to right size the cost base at Shopify called out, and Mr. Rabois already pointing publicly to potentially material headcount reductions coming. That said, in our view, Opendoor balancing cost management/profitability while investing towards product development/innovation and returning back to growth, while ultimately needing to reach real cash generation will require strong execution to balance. We view this as a net positive but with still many outstanding questions, particularly at current valuation levels. Kaz Nejatian, COO of Shopify, is a Best-Case CEO Hire for Opendoor.
