Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls Say
Lower Leverage / De‑risked Balance SheetDebt-to-equity collapsing to ~0.19 from multi-year highs materially reduces default and refinancing risk and increases financial flexibility. This durable balance-sheet repair supports program investment, R&D and cushions cyclical automotive downturns over the next several quarters.
Robust Operating Cash Flow And Improving FCFSustained ~€2.3B operating cash flow and a meaningful positive free cash flow print signal the business generates real cash from core operations. Strong cash generation underpins reinvestment for platform ramps and pays down legacy liabilities, creating a more durable funding base.
Improved Gross Margins And Favorable Product MixA roughly doubled gross margin reflects better pricing, cost control and higher-content electronics. Coupled with exposure to ADAS, electrification and thermal/lighting modules, margin gains are likely more sustainable as vehicle content per unit rises over medium term.
Bears Say
Very Thin Net ProfitabilityA ~1% net margin leaves limited buffer against input-cost shocks, program setbacks or volume declines. Over time this constrains retained earnings growth and makes returns vulnerable to the auto cycle, limiting ability to fund expansion purely from operations.
Recent Revenue WeaknessA notable revenue decline signals sensitivity to OEM production and program timing. Given revenues are driven by program wins and vehicle volumes, sustained or repeated top-line softening would undermine margin progress and cash flow, amplifying cyclical earnings volatility.
Variable FCF Conversion And Cash QualityAlthough FCF improved, historically low conversion and year-to-year variability indicate cash generation quality is uneven. This unpredictability can constrain strategic spending, dividends or further debt reduction during weaker vehicle production periods.
