Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Strong Profitability And MarginsEldorado's materially improved TTM margins and revenue rebound indicate durable operating profitability versus earlier loss years. Strong margins enhance the firm's ability to absorb cost shocks, support reinvestment in projects and debt service, and underpin sustainable returns over the medium term.
Commissioning Milestones At Growth ProjectsNear-term commissioning progress (Skouries first ore crushed; McIlvenna Bay producing first concentrates) represents structural capacity additions. Successful ramp to commercial production will add long-life ounces and by-product credits, creating a durable cash-flow inflection once throughput stabilizes.
Solid Liquidity And Underlying Cash GenerationWith ~$555M cash, ~ $300M revolver capacity and positive underlying business FCF excluding growth projects, Eldorado has a meaningful liquidity buffer. This supports staged project commissioning, targeted shareholder returns and debt servicing while lowering execution risk during ramps.
Bears Say
Negative Free Cash Flow And Weaker Cash ConversionPersistent negative FCF and sub-1x cash conversion reflect elevated capex and working-capital swings tied to large development projects. Over months, this constrains internal funding, raises reliance on external financing and reduces flexibility if project timelines or metal prices deteriorate.
Rising Unit Costs At Several OperationsElevated and rising AISC at multiple mines creates structural margin pressure. Unless grades, recoveries or throughput improve or costs are contained, higher unit costs reduce resilience to gold-price weakness and limit sustainable free-cash generation from the portfolio over the medium term.
Peak Leverage And Project Timing RiskWith total debt near ~$1.75B described as peak leverage and debt servicing looming, commissioning timing risk (grid energization for Skouries) raises refinancing and execution vulnerability. Delays or extra costs could extend peak leverage, compress liquidity and postpone the expected cash-flow improvement.

Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call conveyed a strongly positive operational and strategic outlook with material near-term milestones: Skouries moving through commissioning with first ore crushed and McIlvenna Bay producing first concentrates and ramping toward commercial production. Financial results benefited from a strong realized gold price, producing revenue and adjusted earnings growth, and the company retains robust liquidity. Offsetting risks include elevated project spending driving negative free cash flow this quarter, peak leverage (~$1.75 billion), rising production costs and higher AISC at several mines, and some timing risk on Skouries grid energization (mitigated by gensets). On balance the achievements and clear pathway to transformative production and cash-flow inflection outweigh the near-term cost and timing pressures.View all TSE:ELD earnings summariesELD Stock 12 Month Forecast
