Record Homes Sold
Champion reported a record 26,622 customers in fiscal 2026 (company statement), with U.S. homes sold for the full fiscal year reported as 25,718. This is the highest number of homes sold since the company went public in 2018.
Fourth Quarter Revenue Growth
Net sales for Q4 were $621.3 million, up 4.6% year-over-year and slightly ahead of the company's low-single-digit growth expectations.
Backlog and Order Momentum
Manufacturing orders increased 7% year-over-year in Q4. Manufacturing backlog ended the quarter at $316 million, up $50 million (approximately 19%) sequentially; average backlog lead time remained 8 weeks.
Profitability and Margin Stability
Adjusted gross profit increased 4.6% to $159.4 million with adjusted gross margin essentially flat at 25.7% versus the prior year. Adjusted EBITDA increased 6.3% to $55.9 million and adjusted EBITDA margin improved slightly to 9.0% from 8.9%.
Adjusted Net Income and EPS Improvement
Adjusted net income attributable to Champion Homes in Q4 increased 1% to $37.7 million, or $0.68 per diluted share, compared to $36.3 million or $0.63 per diluted share a year ago.
Strong Cash Generation and Balance Sheet
As of March 28, 2026, Champion reported $638.3 million in cash and cash equivalents. Net cash provided by operating activities for the full fiscal year was $303.9 million, up 26.2% versus $240.9 million in fiscal 2025.
Active Capital Return and Allocation
The company repurchased and retired $50 million of common stock in Q4 and $200 million for the full fiscal year. The Board refreshed the share repurchase authorization to $150 million.
Strategic M&A and Capital Deployment
Proceeds of CAD 189.1 million were received from the sale of Champion's 19% ECN ownership. Champion announced the acquisition of Homes Direct (11 retail locations) with annualized revenues of approximately $70 million, expected to close in fiscal Q2, to expand West Coast retail presence.
Industry Recognition and Competitive Outperformance
Champion earned the NAHB Best in American Living Gold Award and its 12th consecutive Manufactured Housing Institute excellence award. The company outperformed the HUD industry in the 3-month period ended March 2026: HUD shipments were down ~9% year-over-year while Champion was only slightly down in the low single digits in that period.
