Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Nuclear Asset Strategic OptionalityOwnership of nuclear assets creates opportunities for long-term contracts or partnerships that could diversify earnings beyond core utility operations.
Power Price UpsideRising wholesale power prices combined with nearby nuclear assets could boost merchant revenue and partially offset pressure on regulated margins.
Valuation DiscountAnalysts view PSE&G as trading at a valuation discount, which could attract investors and support the share price if regulatory concerns ease.
Bears Say
Analyst Downgrade And Lower EstimatesA downgrade to Hold with reduced earnings estimates signals diminished confidence in projections, which can weigh on investor sentiment and the stock.
Ratepayer Protection Limiting Data Center DealsRatepayer protection pledges reduce hyperscaler interest in contracting with existing generation sites, undermining potential revenue from co-located data center arrangements.
Regulatory Intervention Risk From Executive OrderAn executive order that empowers regulators to use state funds and alter utility actions raises the likelihood of policies that could limit allowed returns and constrain future revenue.

Public Service Enterprise
Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated (PSEG) is an energy provider primarily operating through its subsidiaries in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. It also featured 56 switching stations with a total capacity of 39,353 megavolt-amperes (MVA) and 235 substations with a combined capacity of 9,285 MVA. The electric network was further managed by four main and five sub-electric distribution headquarters. On the gas side, PSE&G maintained 18,000 miles of gas mains, twelve primary and two secondary gas distribution headquarters, a single meter shop, and 58 natural gas metering and regulating stations. PEG Earnings Call
Q1 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call conveyed a broadly positive operational and financial start to 2026 — with meaningful EPS gains, strong nuclear reliability, maintained guidance, substantial capital plans, liquidity, and shareholder-friendly dividend growth. The company also highlighted customer-focused programs and regulatory wins that should help bills and reliability. Offsetting risks include rising costs and interest rates, the end of the ZEC program, uncertainties around PJM's reliability backstop and cost allocation, data-center demand concentration outside New Jersey, and timing/approval risks for nuclear extensions and uprates. On balance, positive achievements and stable guidance outweigh the challenges, though several industry and regulatory uncertainties merit monitoring.View all PEG earnings summariesPEG Revenue Breakdown
