Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Revenue Growth TrendConsistent multi-year revenue growth with re-acceleration in 2026 indicates durable demand across leasing segments. A steady top-line expansion supports scale benefits, repeat deal flow and underwriting depth, which underpin long-term earnings resilience in asset-backed finance.
Improving Profitability & MarginsMaterial margin recovery and higher EBIT margins signal better pricing, portfolio mix or cost control that can sustain earnings power. Improved profitability increases internal capital generation potential and supports returns on equity over the medium term if margins persist.
Diversified Asset-backed Business ModelBroad, asset-backed franchise across equipment, auto and aircraft with services like maintenance and remarketing reduces concentration risk. Diversification by asset type and geography supports stable origination, cross-selling opportunities and resilience to single-market shocks.
Bears Say
High LeverageVery elevated leverage increases sensitivity to interest rates and credit cycles, limiting financial flexibility. In a capital-intensive leasing model, high debt ratios amplify earnings volatility and raise refinancing and covenant risks during funding stress periods.
Inconsistent Cash GenerationVolatile operating and free cash flow undermines capacity to internally fund growth or delever consistently. For a leveraged lessor, intermittent negative cash flow forces reliance on external funding, increasing refinancing risk and constraining strategic investments.
Margin & Gross Profit VolatilityLarge swings in gross profit reflect exposure to asset valuation, residual risk and funding cost shifts. Persistent margin volatility reduces earnings predictability and complicates underwriting; it can erode returns if adverse asset cycles or higher funding costs persist.
