Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Diversified Incubator Business ModelAs the group's flagship incubator, the company originates, builds and scales new businesses across infrastructure, resources and new-energy value chains (eg green hydrogen). This structural role spreads execution risk, enables internal capital recycling and supports multi‑sector growth optionality over years.
Revenue Recovery And Improving MarginsAfter prior volatility, revenue growth resumed and net margin expanded to about 9.3% in FY2026. Sustained top-line growth with higher margins points to improving operating performance and pricing or mix benefits, which underpin longer‑term earnings durability if the trend persists beyond cyclical swings.
Strengthened Equity Base And Easing Peak LeverageEquity expansion since FY2022 and a reduction in peak leverage improve solvency metrics and funding optionality. A stronger capital base increases capacity to fund capital-intensive incubations and potential spin‑outs while partially insulating the group from short-term funding shocks.
Bears Say
Deteriorating Cash GenerationOperating cash flow reversing to negative and deeply negative free cash flow signal material cash‑generation stress. Persistent negative cash flows force reliance on external financing or asset sales, limiting the firm's ability to self‑fund capex, de‑leverage or support new business incubations over the medium term.
High Leverage And Debt-heavy Balance SheetElevated debt ratios and a history of higher leverage amplify exposure to interest‑rate and commodity cycles. High leverage constrains strategic flexibility, raises refinancing and covenant risk, and makes the company more vulnerable to funding stress if operating cash generation remains weak.
Revenue Volatility And Recent Margin PressureVolatile top-line performance and a step‑down in gross and operating profitability versus the prior year point to sensitivity to mix, costs or cyclical markets. This undermines earnings predictability, complicates capital allocation decisions and heightens execution risk for long‑term projects.
