Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls Say
High Operating & EBITDA MarginsSustained high operating and EBITDA margins indicate meaningful operating leverage in the hotel portfolio. Over the medium term this supports cash generation from core operations, funds reinvestment in assets and brand upkeep, and resilience to moderate revenue dips versus lower-margin peers.
Diversified Branded Hospitality PlatformA multi-brand, full-service hospitality model spreads demand across leisure, corporate and group segments and non-room revenue (F&B, events). That structural diversification stabilizes revenue streams and helps optimize asset utilization across cycles compared with single-segment operators.
Return To Positive Operating And Free Cash FlowConsistent positive OCF and FCF since 2023 shows the business has regained cash-generative capacity post-pandemic. Over 2–6 months this trend supports funding for maintenance capex, selective investments or gradual deleveraging, reducing reliance on external financing.
Bears Say
Elevated And Rising LeverageHigh and increasing leverage in an asset-heavy hotel business raises fixed financing costs and reduces financial flexibility. In a cyclical industry, elevated debt amplifies downside risk, constrains strategic spending and can force asset sales or refinancing at unfavorable terms during downturns.
Weak Cash Conversion And Volatile FCFLow cash conversion means reported profit does not translate strongly into cash, limiting ability to service debt, sustain capex, or return capital. Volatile FCF increases funding uncertainty and makes long-term planning and gradual deleveraging more difficult for management.
Soft Net Margin And Low ROEDespite healthy operating margins, weak net margin and very low ROE point to high non-operating costs or capital intensity. Persistently low returns reduce shareholder value generation, limiting capacity for material dividend increases or equity accretive investment over the medium term.
