Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Improving Margins And EBITDA ExpansionSustained margin expansion and rising adjusted EBITDA indicate durable operational leverage and pricing power within Fuller’s specialty adhesives portfolio. Higher gross and EBITDA margins provide a structural cushion against input-cost volatility, support reinvestment and margin-accretive M&A, and underpin longer-term profit sustainability.
Diversified Specialty-adhesives Franchise & Global FootprintA diversified B2B franchise across multiple end markets with application-specific formulations and on-site technical support creates sticky customer relationships. This breadth smooths cyclicality, enables pricing by performance, and supports durable revenue streams and cross-selling as customers prioritize reliable supply and product qualification.
Strategic AMS Acquisition Expands Medical Exposure And TAMBuying AMS is a structural move to scale Fuller’s medical adhesives and biosurgical portfolio, accelerating access to higher-margin healthcare end markets. The deal materially enlarges addressable market, creates cross-selling and commercial leverage, and supports a multi-year path to higher combined medical margins and revenue diversification.
Bears Say
Near-term Leverage Spike To ~4x Post-AMSA pro forma leverage increase to ~4x materially constrains financial flexibility and heightens refinancing and covenant risk if macro or execution setbacks occur. Fuller will depend on timely synergy realization and strong cash flow to deleverage, making capital allocation and integration execution critical over the next 24 months.
Weak Cash Conversion And Declining Free Cash FlowSub‑par cash conversion (CFO and FCF under half of reported earnings) reduces the firm’s ability to self-fund investments, pay down debt, or absorb shocks. Persistently weaker FCF raises dependence on external financing, which magnifies leverage risk especially when funding large, strategic acquisitions.
Persistent Raw-material Inflation And Volume PressureOngoing petrochemical supply issues and projected H2 volume declines exert structural pressure on growth and margin sustainability. Even with pricing, extended input inflation and force majeure events can erode demand in consumer-exposed segments and delay margin normalization, stressing execution and working-capital management.

FUL Earnings Call
Q2 2026

Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
Overall the call was constructive: the company delivered solid Q2 results with revenue, EBITDA, margin and EPS expansion, record second‑quarter cash flow, and clear operational execution amid supply disruptions. Management provided improved full‑year guidance and outlined a strategic, scale‑enhancing acquisition (AMS) with sizable identified synergies that should accelerate medical exposure and margin expansion. Offsetting these positives are continued raw material inflation and supply‑chain disruption, near‑term volume weakness (mid‑single digit expected in H2), and a meaningful near‑term increase in leverage (pro forma ~4x) that prompted investor pushback and share price weakness. Management expects to deleverage within two years and to realize synergies over 2028–2030, but these bring execution and timing risk.View all FUL earnings summariesFUL Stock 12 Month Forecast
