Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Strong Profitability And Earnings GrowthHigh margins and sustained net-income growth indicate strong execution in mission-critical markets. The profitability profile provides resources to fund engineering, capacity expansion and shareholder returns while supporting resilience across business cycles.
Robust Free Cash Flow GenerationStrong free cash flow relative to earnings supports internally funded growth, debt service and capital returns. Consistent conversion over multiple periods suggests earnings quality and gives Curtiss-Wright flexibility to invest in regulated, long-cycle programs.
Backlog Visibility And Structural DemandOrders exceeding shipments improve forward revenue visibility in defense and nuclear markets, where qualification barriers and long program cycles can support durable demand. Commercial nuclear aftermarket activity and naval opportunities further diversify the growth outlook.
Bears Say
Lumpy Program RevenueDependence on a strong Q4 and timing of defense awards creates execution risk around annual targets. Program-driven revenue recognition can make results uneven, complicating planning and potentially delaying the realization of otherwise healthy backlog.
Supply Chain And Input Cost ExposureCurtiss-Wright relies on specialized components and materials for safety-critical products, so persistent shortages or inflation could affect delivery schedules and margins. Mitigation through suppliers and pricing may reduce, but cannot eliminate, execution risk.
Higher Investment And Cash Conversion RiskExpansion, R&D and working-capital needs may temporarily absorb cash before new capacity generates returns. Although free cash flow is strong, the below-one coverage measure signals conversion volatility and raises the importance of disciplined investment execution.

Company Description
Curtiss-Wright Corp
Curtiss-Wright Corporation (CW), along with its affiliated entities, delivers highly engineered products, comprehensive solutions, and a variety of services to a global client base across the aerospace, defense, general industrial, and power generation sectors. The company strategically organizes its operations into three primary divisions: Aerospace & Industrial, Defense Electronics, and Naval & Power. The Aerospace & Industrial segment specializes in manufacturing components for industrial vehicles, such as electronic throttle control systems, joysticks, and transmission shifters. It also supplies advanced sensors, control mechanisms, and electromechanical actuation parts for both commercial and military aircraft. Furthermore, this division offers sophisticated surface treatment services, including shot peening, laser peening, and specialized coatings. In the Defense Electronics segment, Curtiss-Wright provides a wide array of offerings. These include commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) embedded computing board-level modules, dedicated equipment for data acquisition and flight test instrumentation, and integrated subsystem solutions. The segment also develops instrumentation and control systems, turret aiming and stabilization technologies, and advanced weapons handling systems. Its capabilities extend to avionics, general electronics, flight test apparatus, and complete aircraft data management solutions. The Naval & Power division furnishes a critical range of products and services for nuclear power facilities and associated equipment manufacturers. This includes various hardware, pumps, pump seals, control rod drive mechanisms, valves, fastening systems, specialized containment doors, airlock hatches, spent fuel management solutions, and fluid sealing products. For naval applications, particularly serving the U.S. Navy, this segment supplies propulsion and auxiliary equipment such as coolant pumps, power-dense compact motors, generators, steam turbines, valves, and secondary propulsion systems. Additionally, it provides essential ship repair and maintenance services. Curtiss-Wright Corporation, which traces its origins back to 1929, maintains its corporate headquarters in Davidson, North Carolina.

CW Earnings Call
Q2 2026

Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call conveyed a strongly positive operational and financial trajectory: revenue, operating income, EPS, free cash flow and backlog all improved and guidance was raised. Multiple segments reported robust orders and margin expansion, and management announced targeted investments (facility expansion, MIB funding) and strong commercial nuclear opportunities (AP1000). Near-term challenges are primarily timing‑related (lumpy Defense Electronics and Naval & Power revenues), elevated R&D and capex investments, and supply‑chain pressures that could introduce execution risk in the short term. On balance, the highlights substantially outweigh the lowlights, supporting confidence in sustained medium‑ to long‑term growth.View all CW earnings summariesCW Stock 12 Month Forecast
