Adobe's Strategic Acquisition of SEMrush: Enhancing Digital Experience and Monetization OpportunitiesWe view the acquisition of search engine optimization, SEMrush, as a positive for several reasons. First, the acquisition adds a new channel for Adobe’s top of funnel business, the SMB. 95% of SEMrush customers are ad agencies and SMBs. Second, search engine optimization (SEO) is one channel in Adobe’s digital experience marketing suite (DX) that is lacking. SEMrush complements that suite, which already includes content management, B2C marketing, eCommerce and workflow automation. While SEMrush is primarily an SMB solution, we believe that Adobe can add more enterprise capabilities for a better fit with the DX end customers in the large enterprise. Finally, SEMrush has begun transitioning its business to capture more share of AI search optimization (AEO).
