Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Earnings Growth & Book Value ExpansionSustained EAD growth that exceeded the dividend and sequentially rising GAAP and adjusted book values indicate improving core earnings power and capital preservation. That durable earnings / book-value momentum supports sustainable distributions and underpins reinvestment capacity over coming quarters.
Active Capital Deployment & Portfolio ScaleMeaningful, repeatable deployments into agency and residential credit scale the asset base and diversify income sources. Growing BPL-rental and residential credit exposure builds recurring cash flow and creates structural earnings optionality as securitization execution continues.
Improved Liquidity & Liability ManagementStronger quarter-end liquidity and active debt management reduce near-term refinancing risk and support planned securitizations. Better liquidity and demonstrated access to markets are durable enablers for ongoing acquisitions and funding of the firm's growth strategy.
Bears Say
Very High LeverageExtremely elevated leverage materially amplifies sensitivity to funding costs, spread moves and asset-value declines. For a mortgage REIT this structural capital mix constrains flexibility, increases refinancing vulnerability, and raises the likelihood that market stress could force defensive asset sales.
Weaker & Choppy Cash GenerationCash flow has been uneven and declined year-over-year, reducing the cash cushion versus reported earnings. Lower and volatile FCF constrains internal funding for acquisitions, raises dividend sustainability risk under stress, and limits the company's ability to absorb securitization or hedging costs.
Spread & Securitization Execution VolatilityPersistent spread volatility increases hedging complexity and compresses net interest margins, while securitization spread dispersion raises funding cost unpredictability. These structural market risks can erode returns and make planned securitizations and origination rollouts more expensive or intermittent.

ADAM Earnings Call
Q2 2026

Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call presents a predominantly positive operational and financial momentum: strong sequential and year-over-year earnings growth (EAD +26% QoQ, +45% YoY), book value gains, successful capital deployment (> $1B deployed), Constructive moving to profitability and improved liquidity and hedging outcomes. These positives were partially offset by macro-driven volatility (wide agency spread swings), modest compression in net interest spread, securitization spread volatility, and a persistent market valuation discount on the equity. On balance, the company demonstrated resilience, executed on strategic priorities, and advanced earnings scalability despite a challenging market environment.View all ADAM earnings summariesADAM Stock 12 Month Forecast
