These Stocks are the Biggest Pre-Market Movers on Friday

TipRanks has compiled a list of Friday’s biggest pre-market stock movements.

Mixed market sentiment on company-specific news and other variables seems to have dominated today’s stock market. Using TipRanks’ new Top Stock Gainers/Losers page, we’ve identified the top five pre-market stock movers, as detailed below.

5 Biggest Movers

Hong Kong-based AMTD International Inc. (AMTD) was the biggest gainer during pre-market trading, recording gains of 17.9% at the time of writing. There is no fundamental news explaining the trading frenzy of this financial institution.

Global pharmaceutical, cannabis-lifestyle, and consumer packaged goods company, Tilray Brands, Inc. (TLRY), is another gainer, witnessing a 17.8% rise during pre-market trading, at the time of writing. The jump in prices followed the news of possible legalization of marijuana at the federal level next week. The U.S. House of Representatives is likely to vote for the second time on the Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement (MORE) Act headed by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY).

Similarly, Ontario-based cannabis company Canopy Growth Corporation (CGC) climbed 11.9% in the pre-market session, at the time of writing, following an 11.4% gain in price at Thursday’s close. Positive sentiment followed the news of the expected federal legalization of marijuana.

Israel-based Playtika Holding Corp. (PLTK), which is involved in the gaming business, gained 8% during pre-market trading, at last watch. Positive sentiment seems to be driven by the company’s acquisition of Israel-based JustPlay.LOL, creator of the multiplayer game, 1v1.LOL. The deal expands Playtika’s offering into the Action and Battle Royale genres.

Meanwhile, China-based DiDi Global Inc. (DIDI), which is a mobility technology platform offering ride-hailing and food delivery services, declined 9% during pre-market trading at the time of writing. Though there is no company-specific news to explain the downtrend, it seems persisting regulatory issues drove negative sentiment.
