Viridien
Globally, Viridien (formerly CGG) delivers a comprehensive range of data, products, services, and solutions in Earth science, data science, sensing, and monitoring, with operations spanning North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific region. The company operates through two key segments: Data, Digital & Energy Transition (DDE) and Sensing & Monitoring (SMO). Within the DDE segment, Viridien specializes in geoscience, offering services that include geophysical data processing and imaging, reservoir characterization, and comprehensive consulting. This segment is also responsible for developing, managing, licensing, and providing access to extensive geological and seismic data libraries, complemented by robust data management solutions. Furthermore, it develops and markets seismic data processing software under the Geovation brand and offers expert consulting in geoscience and petroleum engineering. The SMO segment is dedicated to the engineering, design, and manufacture of advanced seismic equipment for land and marine data acquisition, encompassing recording systems, specialized software, and seismic sources. This segment's scope extends to a variety of monitoring solutions—such as those for land, marine, ocean bottom, and boreholes—in addition to critical infrastructure monitoring and defense applications, identified by brands like Sercel, Metrolog, GRC, DeRegt, and Geocomp. Customer support services, including training, are also provided. Headquartered in Massy, France, Viridien Société anonyme was established in 1931 and adopted its current name in May 2024, having previously been known as CGG.
