Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls Say
Improved Profitability And MarginsMaterial margin expansion and a 64% jump in net profit reflect stronger pricing power, operating leverage and cost control. Sustained higher margins improve return on capital, support shareholder distributions and provide a buffer against future commodity volatility.
Diversified, Value‑Added Business ModelAcomo’s mix of trading plus processing, blending and tailored supply programs creates higher per‑unit margins and recurring industrial contracts. This vertical value‑add reduces pure spot exposure, deepens customer ties and supports steadier revenues across commodity cycles.
Strategic Capacity & Segment ExpansionRecord segment results, bolt‑on M&A and a materially expanded Food Solutions blending capacity create scalable revenue growth and cross‑sell opportunities. Increased scale supports margin sustainability, stronger commercial offerings and geographic diversification.
Bears Say
Negative Operating And Free Cash Flow (2025)A sharp swing to negative operating and free cash flow driven by inventory build weakens cash conversion. Persistent negative cash generation forces reliance on external financing, limits reinvestment capacity and raises execution risk if working‑capital normalisation is delayed.
Rising LeverageDebt rising materially in one year reduces balance‑sheet flexibility and amplifies earnings sensitivity to interest and working‑capital swings. Elevated leverage constrains strategic optionality, increases refinancing risk and could force conservative capital allocation if earnings moderate.
Segment Operational & Structural HeadwindsOperational plant outages, tariff uncertainty in seeds and structural destocking in Tea create recurring segment volatility. These issues require capex, restructuring and commercial realignment, raising the risk of uneven earnings and slower recovery across affected divisions.
