Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Revenue ReboundA 10.9% revenue rebound in 2026 reflects stronger end-market demand and improved commercial execution. If sustained, higher top-line momentum supports better capacity utilization, fixed-cost absorption and reinvestment capacity, helping stabilize earnings through the next 2–6 months.
Margin ExpansionMaterial margin improvement in 2026 indicates better pricing, product mix and operating leverage. Sustained higher gross and operating margins increase free cash generation and resilience to cyclicality, improving through-cycle profitability and funding for strategic initiatives over the medium term.
Improved LeverageDeleveraging and an equity build lower financial risk and enhance balance-sheet flexibility. A lower D/E ratio increases headroom for capex, acquisitions or working-capital volatility, reducing refinancing pressure and supporting sustainable operations across the next several quarters.
Bears Say
Earnings VolatilityHistoric swings from a loss in 2023 to thin margins in 2024–25 highlight cyclicality and execution risk. This volatility undermines cash-flow predictability, complicates capital allocation and makes multi-quarter planning and external financing more costly or constrained during downturns.
Material Absolute DebtAlthough leverage fell, ~¥29B of debt remains sizeable and the company previously drifted toward higher leverage when margins weakened. Persistent absolute debt increases interest and refinancing exposure, limiting strategic flexibility if earnings falter or rates rise over the medium term.
Weak Cash ConversionOCF at roughly 25–28% of revenue and past negative FCF in 2023 show cash conversion is inconsistent and sensitive to working capital. This variability raises funding and liquidity risk for investments or dividends unless earnings and working-capital dynamics remain stable.
