Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Revenue And Margin ReboundRevenue, margin and ROE recovery in 2026 signals renewed pricing power, better mix and operating leverage. Sustained improvement in core profitability strengthens cash generation capacity and funds reinvestment, reducing structural downside over the medium term.
Improved Leverage ProfileLower debt-to-equity and equity expansion materially improve financial flexibility and lower interest burden. A healthier balance sheet enhances the firm's ability to fund capex, absorb shocks and pursue strategic opportunities without immediate external financing.
Stronger Free Cash FlowConsistent positive free cash flow and high FCF-to-income ratios indicate better earnings quality and internal funding capability. Reliable FCF supports debt reduction, targeted reinvestment or shareholder returns, improving long-term capital allocation flexibility.
Bears Say
Earnings CyclicalityPronounced earnings volatility across recent years shows the business is sensitive to demand and cost swings. Such cyclicality complicates multi-period planning, raises required return thresholds and increases the chance of margin compression in weaker cycles.
Inconsistent Cash ConversionModest operating cash flow relative to revenue and a prior year of negative FCF reflect working-capital and investment sensitivity. Lumpy cash conversion can constrain reinvestment or debt servicing during downturns, increasing operational and financing risk.
Material Outstanding DebtDespite recent improvement, ~¥29B of debt is material and past behaviour shows leverage can rise in weaker periods. This exposure increases refinancing and interest-rate vulnerability, limiting strategic flexibility if earnings re-soften.
