Its market reach extends across India, North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, Australia, and other international territories. The company's business activities are structured into distinct Branded and Non-Branded segments. A core part of its operations involves the processing and blending of various tea types, notably encompassing instant tea production. Beyond its primary beverage offerings, Tata Consumer boasts an extensive and diverse product portfolio of packaged foods. This includes everyday essentials such as salt, pulses, spices, food ingredients, and sweeteners, as well as convenience items like ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook meals, snacks, cereals, flour (poha, besan), and dry fruits. The beverage range further expands to natural mineral water, packaged drinking water, glucose-based drinks, and functional beverages. Additionally, the company operates café outlets under its Tata Cha brand. Its vast range of products is marketed under numerous well-recognized brands, featuring names like Tata Tea, Tetley, Eight O'Clock Coffee, Himalayan, Tata Coffee Grand, Tata Salt, Tata Sampann, Tata Soulfull, Sonnets by Tata Coffee, Tata Starbucks, Good Earth Kombucha, and Tata Q, among many others. Originally incorporated in 1962, the company was historically known as Tata Global Beverages Limited until it underwent a rebranding to Tata Consumer Products Limited in February 2020.
