Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Cost Reduction ProgramPlanned $60 million of staffing and other cost reductions in 2026, despite associated one‑time and non‑cash charges, should improve operating margins and bolster cash flow.
Free Cash Flow GuidanceReaffirmed confidence in a $700–800 million free cash flow target for 2026 supports expectations that cash generation can be used to reduce leverage or fund shareholder returns.
Industry Supply ManagementAnalyst notes that industry production curtailment could limit further price declines for paperboard and help stabilize revenues and margins.
Bears Say
Management And Execution RiskSudden changes in top management, including departures among senior executives, raise doubts about strategic direction and increase the risk that major projects and previously issued targets may be reset.
Pricing PressureDeclining prices for the premium paperboard grade have created a negative pricing environment that can erode margins and lower revenue per unit.
Weak Demand And Excess CapacityExcess industry capacity paired with weak end‑market demand is putting downward pressure on paperboard pricing and increasing uncertainty about future sales volumes.
