MVV Energie AG
Operating predominantly within Germany, MVV Energie AG and its various subsidiaries supply a comprehensive range of utilities, including electricity, heat, natural gas, and water, alongside other related offerings. Its operations are organized into five distinct divisions: Customer Solutions, New Energies, Supply Reliability, Strategic Investments, and Other Activities. The Customer Solutions division manages the retail and wholesale distribution of energy and water, facilitates direct sales of renewable power, handles commodity trading, and provides a variety of services, including those for external clients. Within the New Energies segment, the company operates facilities utilizing waste, biomass, biomethane, and biogas for power generation, in addition to solar (photovoltaic) installations and wind turbines; this division is also responsible for developing, operating, and managing windfarms and solar parks both domestically and internationally. The Supply Reliability division focuses on conventional combined heat and power generation and oversees the vast infrastructure of electricity, district heating, gas, and water distribution networks, which span an impressive total length of about 19,300 kilometers. Through its Strategic Investments segment, MVV Energie AG manages the operation of various energy production sites and utility grid infrastructure. The Other Activities segment delivers essential support services such as metering, billing, and information technology solutions. Its diverse client base encompasses industrial enterprises, retail businesses, private households, real estate developers, and various commercial and business entities. Established in 1974 and headquartered in Mannheim, Germany, MVV Energie AG functions as a subsidiary under MVV Verkehr AG.
