Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Free Cash Flow GenerationConsistently very high free cash flow (TTM ~$2.36B; Q3 $1.77B) underpins durable capital allocation flexibility. Strong FCF funds buybacks (>$8.5B cumulative), supports investments in streaming and rights, and provides a buffer versus cyclical ad revenue swings.
Strong Profitability And Record EBITDARobust operating margins (TTM EBIT ~16.6%) and record adjusted EBITDA demonstrate resilient core earnings power. Sustained profitability supports reinvestment in content, funds distribution deals, and helps preserve cash generation even if top-line growth slows temporarily.
Scale Of Content & Distribution AssetsLarge, diversified content portfolio (FOX News, FOX Sports, Tubi, Fox One) provides structural advantages: strong ad pricing at FOX News, growing and improving-margin streaming at Tubi, and proprietary distribution tools that reduce subscriber erosion and broaden monetization paths over time.
Bears Say
Top-line Weakness & Ad CyclicalityRevenue has shown modest decline (TTM -2.3%) and advertising is highly event-driven. Dependence on large live events creates lumpy quarters and complicates forecasting, limiting consistent top-line growth and making multi-quarter revenue recovery sensitive to event timing.
Meaningful Debt LoadMaterial outstanding debt (~$6.6B) and non-trivial leverage constrain strategic flexibility. While coverage appears manageable, debt servicing and covenant considerations can limit aggressive M&A, bidding for incremental sports rights, or sustained buybacks if cash generation softens.
Sports Rights Costs And Cable Margin PressureRising sports rights amortization and higher cable expenses compress segment profitability. If rights costs continue to escalate, cable margins could face sustained pressure, challenging earnings stability since sports remain central to Fox's advertising and distribution economics.

Company Description
Fox Corporation Class B
Fox Corporation is a prominent media conglomerate primarily focused on news, sports, and entertainment operations within the United States. Its business is structured across three main divisions: Cable Network Programming; Television; and a segment encompassing Other, Corporate, and Eliminations. The Cable Network Programming division is responsible for creating and licensing news, business news, and sports content. This content is then disseminated across the U.S. through both traditional and virtual multi-channel video programming distributors (MVPDs), as well as various other digital platforms. This segment's extensive portfolio includes well-known national cable channels such as FOX News (for general news) and FOX Business (for financial news), multi-sport networks FS1 and FS2, FOX Sports Racing (dedicated to motorsports), FOX Soccer Plus (featuring live soccer and rugby), FOX Deportes (a Spanish-language sports service), and the Big Ten Network. Meanwhile, the Television segment focuses on acquiring, developing, marketing, and distributing diverse programming. It operates The FOX Network, a national broadcast television network renowned for its sports and entertainment programming. Other key assets in this division include Tubi, an advertising-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) service; Fox Alternative Entertainment, a full-service production studio specializing in unscripted and alternative content; MyNetworkTV, a programming distribution service; and Blockchain Creative Labs, which is dedicated to the creation, distribution, and monetization of Web3 content. Additionally, this segment holds ownership and operational control over 29 broadcast television stations. The Other, Corporate and Eliminations segment notably manages the FOX Studios Lot, situated in Los Angeles, California. This comprehensive facility offers a range of production and post-production services, comprising 15 sound stages, two broadcast studios, theaters, screening rooms, editing facilities, and numerous other amenities for television and film production. Fox Corporation was established in 2018 and is headquartered in New York, New York.
FOX Earnings Call
Q3 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call emphasized multiple strong operating and financial trends: record third-quarter adjusted EBITDA (+11%), robust free cash flow ($1.77B), aggressive share repurchases, strong audience and pricing gains at FOX News (CPMs +45%), meaningful growth and improving profitability at Tubi (revenue +23%, view time +19%, near-breakeven), early success of Fox One stabilizing distribution trends, and strong sports ratings and strategic NFL additions. The primary negatives were headline advertising declines and GAAP net income compression driven by the absence of the prior-year Super Bowl and higher sports rights amortization in the Cable segment. Overall, the positive operational momentum, cash generation, and capital returns outweigh the event-driven advertising and GAAP earnings headwinds.View all FOX earnings summariesFOX Revenue Breakdown
