Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Record BacklogA record US$32.1bn backlog provides multi‑period revenue visibility and production runway, reducing near‑term demand risk. A deep, diversified book across commercial, executive and defense supports steady delivery conversion, supplier planning and predictable future aftermarket revenue streams.
Recurring Services BacklogA US$5.1bn services & support backlog strengthens recurring, higher‑margin revenue. Lifecycle MRO, spare parts and training provide steady cash flow insulation from OEM delivery cycles, boosting long‑term margin stability and customer lock‑in across installed fleets globally.
Strong Product Demand (E2)The E2 program’s >500 orders demonstrate durable product competitiveness in the right‑sized, fuel‑efficient narrowbody market. Sustained demand supports higher production rates, economies of scale, lease and resale markets, and positions Embraer to capture fleet renewal and regional capacity growth long term.
Bears Say
Margin CompressionFalling margins erode the company’s profit buffer and reduce retained earnings available for reinvestment or payout. Persistent compression, driven by mix shifts and cost pressures, weakens return on capital and makes Embraer more sensitive to cyclical downturns and commodity or tariff shocks over the medium term.
Weakened Cash ConversionEarnings are not translating into proportional cash generation: lower FCF and FCF/net income ~0.59x signal higher working capital and inventory needs. Reduced cash conversion limits funding for capex, dividends or buybacks and increases reliance on financing during production ramps or supply chain builds.
Material Leverage RemainsAlthough leverage has improved since 2021, a material debt load (~0.86 D/E TTM) still constrains financial flexibility. Elevated leverage increases interest and refinancing exposure, limits capacity for opportunistic investments, and raises vulnerability to slower cash flows or higher rates over the next several quarters.

EMBJ Earnings Call
Q1 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call presents a broadly positive operational and commercial picture: record revenue and backlog, strong order momentum across Commercial, Executive and Defense segments, solid deliveries, improved cash position and disciplined capital allocation. These positives are partially offset by margin pressure from U.S. import tariffs, some nonrecurring infrastructure costs, ramp-up-related margin softness in Service & Support, and lingering supply-chain bottlenecks that keep delivery guidance conservative. Management provided constructive 2026 guidance that assumes a cautious stance on tariffs and highlights material upside should tariff exemptions persist.View all EMBJ earnings summariesEMBJ Stock 12 Month Forecast
