Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Large Firm BacklogA US$32.1B backlog provides multi-month visibility into deliveries and revenue conversion, smoothing near-term demand volatility. It supports production planning, supply‑chain commitments and aftermarket attachment opportunities, underpinning revenue predictability and capacity utilization over the next 2–6 months.
Sustained E2 DemandCross‑cycle demand for E2 jets signals structural market preference for fuel‑efficient, right‑sized narrowbodies. A large, steady orderbook strengthens Embraer’s competitive position in the sub‑150 seat segment, improves program scale economics and supports long‑term aftermarket and leasing relationships.
Aftermarket And Services FranchiseA broad services & support network generates recurring, higher‑margin revenue and increases customer stickiness. Aftermarket income cushions cyclical OEM sales, improves lifetime economics per aircraft, and supports steadier cashflows and margin durability over medium‑term planning horizons.
Bears Say
Margin CompressionMargins have backed off from 2024 highs and TTM net margin is modest (~3.9%), indicating pressure from mix, costs or tariffs. Sustained margin compression would reduce operating leverage on higher volumes and limit the company’s ability to invest, fund R&D, or expand shareholder distributions over the medium term.
Weakened Cash Conversion / Inventory BuildNegative adjusted FCF driven by inventory buildup ahead of deliveries weakens cash conversion and raises working capital needs. Persistent cash burn to support production ramps can force external funding, delay deleveraging or constrain capital allocation despite strong revenue/backlog over the next few quarters.
Leverage Remains MaterialAlthough leverage improved from earlier years, a ~0.86 debt/equity ratio and material outstanding liabilities leave limited financial flexibility in a cyclical industry. That level increases refinancing and interest‑rate exposure risk and could constrain investments or require prioritization of debt servicing over growth initiatives.

EMBJ Earnings Call
Q1 2026

Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call presents a broadly positive operational and commercial picture: record revenue and backlog, strong order momentum across Commercial, Executive and Defense segments, solid deliveries, improved cash position and disciplined capital allocation. These positives are partially offset by margin pressure from U.S. import tariffs, some nonrecurring infrastructure costs, ramp-up-related margin softness in Service & Support, and lingering supply-chain bottlenecks that keep delivery guidance conservative. Management provided constructive 2026 guidance that assumes a cautious stance on tariffs and highlights material upside should tariff exemptions persist.View all EMBJ earnings summariesEMBJ Stock 12 Month Forecast
