The Sandbox
Sandbox, a blockchain-based virtual metaverse, brings together DAO and NFTs and was created by Arthur Madrid and Sebastien Borget, who created Pixowl in 2011. Gamers can create and transact in digital assets with the SAND token in this play-to-earn model.
With tools such as Game Maker and VoxEdit, gamers act as creators as well, and also can monetize voxel assets and gaming experiences, which drives the in-game economy. Further, LAND is the scarce digital real estate (total supply 166,464) on Sandbox. Players can buy LAND to populate it with games and assets and boost its value.
Sandbox continues to gain traction and has partnered with major names including Adidas, Atari, Standard Chartered, SoftBank, Samsung, Wedbush, HSBC as well as Snoop Dogg.
SAND, an ERC-20 utility token, powers the transactions on the platform and has a maximum supply of 3 billion tokens.
