Their extensive product portfolio includes highly specialized cryogenic valves, such as cast steel, small forged, triple-offset, memoryseal ball, and control valve types, all engineered for extremely low-temperature applications. The company also provides a broad selection of gate, globe, and check valves, featuring pressure seal, cast steel, small forged, dual-plate check, and bolted bonnet high-pressure models, alongside corrosion-resistant cast stainless steel variants, bonnetless and knife gate valves, and critical maintenance valves for nuclear service. Their quarter-turn valve offerings are equally diverse, encompassing various ball valve designs—including metal-seated, high-performance three-piece, and general-purpose options—as well as triple-offset valves, high-performance cryogenic butterfly valves, coker ball valves, and specialized cap-tight batch digester capping valves. Additionally, Velan supplies dedicated cast and small forged valves for hydrofluoric acid environments, a variety of bellows seal bolted bonnet high-pressure, seal cast steel, and seal API small forged valves. Complementing their valve solutions are bimetallic and thermodynamic steam traps. Velan serves a wide array of industrial sectors globally, including nuclear and conventional power generation, oil and gas exploration and refining, chemical processing, pulp and paper manufacturing, marine transport, mining, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and cryogenics, and water and wastewater management. The company primarily distributes its products through a network of independent third-party distributors and dedicated sales agents worldwide. Founded in 1950 as Velan Engineering Ltd., the company rebranded to Velan Inc. in February 1981 and maintains its corporate headquarters in Montréal, Canada.
