TetraLogic Pharmaceuticals Corporation operates as a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical firm, concentrating its efforts on identifying and advancing small-molecule treatments for cancer and infectious diseases. The company's development pipeline features two key clinical-stage drug candidates: birinapant and SHAPE. Birinapant, a small molecule, functions as a Second Mitochondrial Activator of Caspases (SMAC) mimetic, promoting programmed cell death, or apoptosis, in compromised cells. SHAPE, another proprietary compound, is a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor intended for topical administration to address early-stage cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Furthermore, TetraLogic Pharmaceuticals has a research collaboration with the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research to explore the application of SMAC-mimetics, including birinapant, in treating infectious diseases. Founded in 2001 as Gentara Corporation, the company adopted its current name, TetraLogic Pharmaceuticals Corporation, in January 2006 and maintains its headquarters in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
