Rio Paranapanema Energia S.A. specializes in the generation and sale of electrical power across Brazil. The company manages a substantial portfolio of hydroelectric facilities, operating ten power plants in total: eight large ones on the Rio Paranapanema and two smaller units on the Rio Sapucaí, which together contribute an impressive installed capacity of 2,297.76 megawatts. Established in 1999, the firm was previously known as Duke Energy International, Geração Paranapanema S.A. before rebranding to its current name in January 2017. Headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil, it operates as a subsidiary of Rio Paranapanema Participações S.A.
