Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Strong Cash GenerationConsistent high operating cash flow and a robust 2025 free cash flow provide durable internal funding for working capital, CapEx and dividends. This recurring cash generation supports reinvestment and payouts, improving resilience versus cyclical profit swings over the next several years.
Omni-channel & Digital TractionMaterial contribution from digital channels and a rapidly growing retail‑media business diversify revenue and raise gross-margin potential. Structural shift to omni‑channel sales improves customer reach, cost efficiency and recurring ad-like income, supporting sustainable revenue mix improvement.
Cost Discipline & Improving ROCESustained SG&A reduction and a clear ROCE improvement target indicate structural efficiency gains. Lower operating overhead and higher capital returns should support durable margin expansion and better capital allocation as store rollout and media investments scale over the 2–6 month horizon into multi-year objectives.
Bears Say
Very High LeverageExtremely elevated leverage and a shrunken equity base materially reduce financial flexibility and increase refinancing and interest-rate sensitivity. This structural balance-sheet weakness constrains strategic optionality and raises downside risk if cash generation weakens or rates rise.
Thin, Volatile MarginsNet margins remain slim and historical earnings volatility undermines confidence in sustained profitability. Even with recent rebound, thin sector margins and prior loss years mean durable earnings power depends on continued execution rather than one-off improvements.
E‑commerce & Integration RiskDigital growth and retail‑media require integration and cost control; prior e‑commerce dilution and a small loss-making acquisition create execution risk. If retail‑media or online operations fail to scale margin-accretively, capital and management bandwidth could be strained.
