Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls Say
Margin ExpansionSustained margin expansion to the mid-teens gross level and a positive operating margin reflects better pricing, cost control and operational leverage. Over 2-6 months this supports higher cash conversion and resilience to input cost swings, improving durable profit generation.
Improving Leverage And Equity BaseLower leverage and a stronger equity base reduce refinancing risk and increase financial flexibility. A falling debt-to-equity level alongside improving ROE provides structural capacity to fund capex, pay down debt, or support dividends over the medium term.
Rebound In Cash GenerationA return to positive operating and free cash flow after multi-year negatives indicates the business can generate internal funding again. If sustained, this improves ability to self-finance investments, reduce leverage, and maintain shareholder returns over coming quarters.
Bears Say
Volatile Historical Cash FlowRepeated negative free cash flow in prior years shows cash generation is cyclical and susceptible to working-capital swings. This undermines predictability for capex, dividends or debt repayment and raises the risk that future investment or recovery periods will strain liquidity.
Modest Profitability And ReturnsAlthough improved, margins and ROE are modest relative to many peers, limiting internal reinvestment and margin of safety. Mid-single-digit returns constrain long-term capacity to scale R&D, expand capacity, or absorb price pressure without external funding.
Uneven Revenue TrendSharp year-to-year swings in top line indicate demand cyclicality or sensitivity to order timing. This unevenness complicates capacity planning and weakens the visibility of sustainable growth rates, raising the risk that FY2025 momentum may not persist.
