Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Revenue & Earnings GrowthConsistent multi‑year revenue and net income growth demonstrates durable demand and execution capability in infrastructure projects. Sustained top‑line and earnings expansion supports scale economies, improves bidding competitiveness for tenders, and underpins long‑term ability to win and deliver government contracts.
Improved Capital StructureMeaningful deleveraging through 2025 indicates stronger capitalization and lower financial risk, enhancing borrowing flexibility for project financing. A healthier balance sheet supports bidding for larger contracts, provides a cushion against project volatility and improves strategic optionality over the medium term.
Vertical Manufacturing CapabilityOwning manufacturing for concrete components diversifies revenue and creates vertical integration benefits. Captive supply of railway sleepers and related products can stabilize margins, shorten lead times, secure recurring institutional contracts, and reduce reliance on third‑party suppliers over the medium term.
Bears Say
Weak Cash ConversionTwo consecutive years of weak operating cash flow and negative free cash flow indicate profits are not reliably converting to cash. In construction this raises working‑capital, receivables and retention risks, reduces reinvestment capacity, and may force dependence on external financing to fund project activity.
Margin Compression In 2026Declining gross profit and EBIT despite rising revenue suggests worsening project economics, cost inflation, or adverse mix. Sustained margin pressure undermines return on projects, weakens cash generation, and constrains ability to absorb future cost shocks or to bid competitively without sacrificing profitability.
Rising Debt In 2026A material rise in total debt in 2026 reverses earlier leverage gains and raises refinancing and interest‑cost risk. If higher debt finances working capital rather than earning assets, it can amplify liquidity strain given weak cash conversion and limit strategic flexibility during project slowdowns.
