Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls Say
High Gross MarginsSustained gross margins near 62%–74% provide a structural profitability buffer for a vaccine manufacturer. High product-level margins can absorb R&D and manufacturing scale-up costs, enabling the business to reach operating profitability faster once SG&A and development spend are controlled.
Positive Operating Cash FlowCore operations generated positive operating cash flow across 2024–2025, indicating commercial sales convert into cash. Durable cash generation from operations supports reinvestment in production and R&D and reduces near-term reliance on external financing if the trend is maintained.
Integrated R&D And ManufacturingVertical integration across R&D, manufacturing and commercialization gives structural advantages: control of supply, faster scale-up, and potential contract manufacturing revenue. This positions the company to capture more margin and respond to public health procurement demands over time.
Bears Say
Large Recurring Net LossesA net margin near -58% reflects persistent operating losses and an inability to cover fixed and overhead costs. Sustained losses erode equity, depress ROE and force repeated external funding or dilution, limiting the firm's ability to invest strategically and increasing long-term financial risk.
Revenue Decline TrendRevenue fell 10% in 2025 after only modest prior growth, signaling weakened commercialization or market access. For a capital-intensive vaccine manufacturer, declining sales reduce operating leverage and make it harder to cover fixed manufacturing and R&D costs, slowing recovery to profitability.
Negative Free Cash Flow And Rising LeveragePersistent negative free cash flow (-171.4M in 2025) alongside rising debt-to-equity points to ongoing funding pressure. Continued cash consumption forces reliance on external capital or higher leverage, which can constrain strategic choices, increase financing costs, and risk shareholder dilution over the medium term.
