What is Stellar?
Stellar
Stellar was founded in 2014 by Jed McCaleb and Joyce Kim with the goal of providing interoperability between fiat and crypto currencies. This peer-to-peer network works to connect various financial systems globally and enable the movement of financial assets at speed and with low costs.
The XLM token acts as a gateway for operations and transaction fees. Further, Stellar acts as a decentralized exchange as well as a marketplace supporting transactions in multiple currencies and for individuals as well as institutions. The max supply of XLM tokens is capped at ~50 billion.
