Hold Rating for Merit Medical Systems Due to Pending Long-term Data and Pricing Challenges for WRAPSODY StentWe spoke with an interventional radiologist at a large hospital in Miami who performs ~120 dialysis access maintenance procedures annually, with volumes growing 5-10% per year. Covered stents represent about 30% of cases in their practice, and utilization has increased following the introduction of WRAPSODY. The physician began using WRAPSODY roughly six months ago. 75-80% of their stent cases have transitioned to the device from GORE, citing favorable early outcomes and availability of larger diameter sizes. While initial cases have been positive with no occlusions reported to date, the doctor noted that long-term durability data will take years to develop. They expect WRAPSODY to become the SOC in their practice barring any new complications or competitive data. This call was more positive than our WRAPSODY check last week (see note).
