ARPA-E (Advanced Research Projects Agency–Energy) is a U.S. Department of Energy agency established in 2009 to fund high-potential, high-impact energy technologies. It provides competitive grants and cooperative agreements to support early-stage, high-risk, high-reward research and development in energy, often partnering with universities, national laboratories, and private companies.
