Why Are Stock Market Futures Down Today, 3/24/26?

U.S. stock futures were down ahead of Tuesday’s session as rising oil prices offset improving sentiment around a potential U.S.-Iran resolution. Futures on the Nasdaq 100 (NDX), the S&P 500 (SPX), and the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) were down 0.67%, 0.60%, and 0.55%, respectively, at 1:00 a.m. EDT on March 24.

At the time of writing, Brent crude (CM:BZ) rose 3.96% to $103.9 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude (CM:CL) gained 4.01% to $91.66 per barrel.

Major stock indices jumped on Monday, with the Nasdaq and Dow each rising 1.4%, and the S&P 500 gaining 1.2%.

Looking ahead, investors are awaiting the U.S. flash services and manufacturing PMI for March. On the earnings front, GameStop (GME) and KB Home (KBH) are scheduled to report quarterly numbers tomorrow.
