Trade AMZN with leverage

OpenAI’s new deal with Amazon puts Amazon Web Services at the heart of another marquee AI customer, adding fresh cloud demand and signaling deeper involvement in AI infrastructure. While Microsoft remains OpenAI’s primary partner and retains its exclusive license to OpenAI technology, the expanded AWS role gives Amazon a bigger seat at the table in the race to supply AI computing.

For investors, the move strengthens Amazon’s strategic case in AI just as the company leans into its own Trainium and Inferentia chips to cut reliance on Nvidia hardware and lower costs. Amazon plans around $200 billion in capital spending in 2026, much of it for data centers and custom AI silicon, and Wall Street currently rates AMZN a Strong Buy with an average target near $282, implying roughly 35% upside.
