At this year’s Let’s Grow! Walmart Marketplace Seller Summit, Walmart said it was equipping its sellers with AI-powered tools that simplify operations, save time and increase sales. This includes listing products faster to managing operations more efficiently.
Pets and Kids
Tools include an AI-Powered listing tool and smart assistant to reduce time to market and increase conversion rates. Sellers who self-fulfill can also automate delivery promises by region.
Walmart is also introducing new seller incentives to help sellers compete during the peak shopping season and win more business including a 0% referral fee on all qualifying toys, a 50% referral fee reduction on all qualifying pet supplies and up to 100% referral fee reductions on qualifying top-selling items across categories.
Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) are also now offering expanded Next-Day Delivery coverage across top U.S. cities — including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Houston and Atlanta. This, Walmart said, means faster, more reliable delivery of Marketplace items to millions of customers.
It comes only 24 hours after Walmart said it will install numerous AI-powered Ranpak (PACK) AutoFill systems across its five Next Generation Fulfillment Centers. The aim is to speed up the fulfillment process for customers, reduce packaging waste, and simplify work for its staff.
Ecommerce Goals
Walmart also recently announced it was rolling out four so-called super agents which would be powered by agentic AI.
For ordinary shoppers, it means helping them find new products, accelerating delivery times and helping make returning products an easier process. By doing so it hopes to take share away from Amazon and power its e-commerce business forward.
Indeed, it wants e-commerce to hit 50% of total sales – see below – within five years.
“Walmart has become one of the fastest-growing eCommerce platforms by focusing on what matters most: integrity, seller success and delivering exceptional experiences for customers,” said Manish Joneja, senior vice president, Walmart U.S. Marketplace and Walmart Fulfillment Services.
