Waffle House Will Not Appear in Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 Despite Attempts to Include It

Waffle House has become an internet meme over the years, often portrayed as a place where fights break out. This sparked a joke among players of video game developer Bandai Namco’s (NCBDF) Tekken 8 that it should be featured in the fighting game. Fans even reached out to game director Katsuhiro Harada, requesting that he collaborate with the breakfast chain to feature one of its locations in Tekken 8.

Confident Investing Starts Here:

While Harada didn’t understand the context of the Waffle House request at first, he was receptive to the request. The Tekken 8 director confirmed on X, formerly Twitter, this week that he has tried to reach out to Waffle House through several channels, but hasn’t received a response.

Harada doesn’t know why Waffle House hasn’t responded to his attempts to reach it. However, he suggested it could be due to Tekken 8’s reputation as a fighting game. Being added to the video game may not be the type of public relations that Waffle House wants.

All Hope Isn’t Lost for a Waffle-Themed Beatdown

Harada noted that even though he can’t reach Waffle House for a collaboration, he still likes the idea of having a similar location in Tekken 8. He told his followers on X that “if—like I suggested earlier—using a different name or format is acceptable as long as the core message is maintained, then I would be willing to seriously reconsider and explore this again.”
