The New York Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) announced the plan on Friday, noting that its investigation found that Uber Eats failed to pay these workers the minimum pay rate between December 2023 and September 2024 for time spent on trips that were ultimately canceled. The food delivery company will also pay $350,000 in civil penalties and fees, DCWP said.
