U.S. Stock Futures Steady as Holiday Week Wraps Up

U.S. stock futures were little changed Thursday evening, to close out a holiday-shortened trading week. Futures on the Nasdaq 100 (NDX), the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), and the S&P 500 Index (SPX) were up 0.05%, 0.06%, and 0.07%, respectively, at 6:33 p.m. EST on November 27.

All three major indices are on track for their strongest Thanksgiving-week performance in at least 13 years. By Wednesday’s close, the Dow Jones, the S&P 500, and the Nasdaq were up 2.6%, 3.2%, and 4.2%, respectively. The gains were driven by renewed optimism in AI stocks and rising expectations for a Federal Reserve interest rate cut in December.

It must be noted that the stock market was closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving Day. Also, it will close early at 1 p.m. EST on Friday.
