U.S. stock futures were mixed on Monday evening as investors weighed escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East against hopes for a diplomatic resolution. Futures on the Nasdaq 100 (NDX) and the S&P 500 (SPX) were down 0.15% and 0.06%, respectively, at 6:36 p.m. EDT on April 6, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) futures were up 0.14%.

Trade QQQ with leverageIn the regular trading session, major indices closed modestly higher after President Donald Trump said Iran was “an active, willing participant” in talks to end the conflict, while warning that the U.S. would strike Iran’s power plants and bridges if Iran does not reopen Hormuz by Tuesday evening. The Nasdaq, the S&P 500, and the Dow rose 0.5%, 0.4%, and 0.4%, respectively.
Looking ahead, traders will be watching February’s durable goods orders and the consumer credit report on Tuesday.
