U.S. stock futures showed little movement on Thursday evening as the market awaited Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s highly anticipated speech at the Jackson Hole economic symposium on Friday. Investors are looking for clues about where the monetary policy is headed.

Futures on the Nasdaq 100 (NDX), the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), and the S&P 500 Index (SPX) were up 0.06%, 0.12%, and 0.09%, respectively, at 6:16 p.m. EDT on August 21.
On Thursday’s regular trading session, the S&P 500 recorded its fifth consecutive day of losses, falling 0.4%. The Nasdaq Composite and the Dow Jones also ended the session in negative territory, down 0.34% and 0.34%, respectively.
As of Thursday’s close, all three major indices were on track for a losing week, with the S&P 500 down 1.2%, the Nasdaq down 2.4%, and the Dow off by about 0.4% week-to-date.
