Tech stocks are helping U.S. chess champion Hikaru Nakamura’s TipRanks investment portfolio today.

According to Hikaru’s stock Heat Map today, it is the likes of Alphabet (GOOGL), Amazon (AMZN), and Shopify (SHOP), which are driving his performance in another day of uncertainty on U.S. markets.

  • Amazon – Hikaru bought 40 AMZN shares on September 16, 2025. It accounts for 7.57% of his overall holdings. He is sitting on a 9.77% loss, but today the stock is up just over 1%.
  • Google – Hikaru bought 40 GOOGL shares on September 16, 2025. It accounts for 10.62% of his overall holdings. He is sitting on a 17.6% gain. Today it is up 0.64%.
  • Shopify – Hikaru bought 53 SHOP shares on February 6, 2026. It accounts for 5.65% of his overall holdings. He is sitting on a 15.12% loss, but it is up over 1% today.

Overall, Hikaru’s portfolio has a total return of 2.8%. It is up 2.7% compared with the S&P 500. However, only 9 out of 18 transactions have made a profit.
