“We’re going to have to come down very, very strong,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News on Friday, adding that the sanctions could include tariffs and target the oil and banking sectors as long as Europe participates.

U.S. Threatens Tariffs Over Russian Oil Purchases

Trump added that he has already targeted nations that indirectly support Russia’s war efforts, citing a 50% tariff on India. He also emphasized that the war is a “Europe problem, much more than our problem,” calling on members of the Group of Seven to impose 100% tariffs on China and India as punishment for buying Russian oil.

Trump’s comments signal a tougher stance ahead, even as talks remain stalled. Investors will be watching closely to see if the U.S. follows through on these threats.
