Trump’s Greenland Tariff Gambit Knocks U.S. Big Tech Stocks in Europe

Shares in several U.S. big tech companies opened lower in Europe after President Donald Trump, over the weekend, threatened new tariffs on several countries in the region as part of his bid to acquire Greenland.

As of 5:04 a.m. EST, the following stocks on Xetra in Frankfurt, Germany, fell:

  • Nvidia (NVD) tumbled 3.72% to €155.92
  • Alphabet (ABEA) shrank 2.18% to €278.25
  • Microsoft (MSF) fell 1.72% to €390.30
  • Amazon (AMZ) dropped 1.63% to €201.85
  • Meta (FB2A) fell 3.03% to €522.30

The U.S. stock market is closed on Monday, January 19, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday.
