President Trump has wrapped up his summit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy said the pair had a “very good” conversation, with Trump adding that he believes the Russia-Ukraine war could be resolved with a peace agreement.

Both men said that they support a trilateral meeting with Russia, while Trump reiterated that he would call Russian President Vladimir Putin after meeting with European leaders.
Zelenskyy Stands Firm on Territory, Presses for Security Assurances
A key sticking point, however, is the proposal that Ukraine surrender territory in exchange for Russia halting its attacks. Before the meeting, Zelenskyy said he opposed this idea because Ukraine’s constitution prohibits it.
When asked what security guarantees Ukraine requires, Zelenskyy responded, “Everything.” Trump confirmed that the U.S. would help Ukraine receive these guarantees.
The busy day isn’t over yet, as Trump and Zelenskyy are currently meeting with European leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and French President Emmanuel Macron, to discuss an end to the war.
