On Thursday, he warned he would invoke the Insurrection Act if state politicians don’t act to “stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E.” The Insurrection Act allows the president to deploy the U.S. military within the country to suppress riots, civil unrest, or insurrections.
Walz Demands Justice After Fatal Shooting
On Wednesday, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz accused the government of “organized brutality” after an ICE agent fatally shot 37-year-old Minneapolis resident Renee Good.
“Let’s be very, very clear: This long ago stopped being a matter of immigration enforcement,” Walz said. “Instead, it is a campaign of organized brutality against the people of Minnesota by our own federal government.”
Walz added that six Minnesota federal prosecutors have resigned in protest over how the investigation into Good is being carried out.
