President Trump warned on Tuesday that NATO is making a “very foolish mistake” by not joining the Hormuz Coalition and helping ships travel safely through the Strait of Hormuz.

Trade QQQ with leverage“Because of the fact that we have had such Military Success, we no longer ‘need,’ or desire, the NATO Countries’ assistance — WE NEVER DID!” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “Likewise, Japan, Australia, or South Korea.”
U.S. Allies Resist Hormuz Coalition
Several countries have signaled that they are unlikely to join the coalition, including Germany, Australia, Italy, and Japan.
In an X post, Senator Lindsey Graham noted that he has “never heard him so angry in my life” after speaking with Trump about the hesitancy of European allies to help secure the strait. Lindsey added that there would be “wide and deep” repercussions for Europe and the U.S. Traffic through the passage remains largely halted, save for Iran-linked vessels.
