President Trump blasted U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren after she appeared in a CNBC interview on Monday morning and criticized his firing of Bureau of Labor Statistics Commissioner Erika McEntarfer. On Friday, the BLS announced that it had overstated nonfarm payrolls data for May and June by a combined 285,000 jobs, prompting Trump to immediately fire McEntarfer.
“I think most people have not absorbed just how dangerous it is, both to fire the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics and also, then what, to put in some sycophant who’s going to give data that makes the president happy?” said Warren.
Trump Rebukes Warren over BLS Head Dismissal
“Elizabeth Warren is a LOSER! She lies about everything, including the fact that she is an Indian,” Trump said in a Truth Social post on Monday. “She’s NOT. She’s no Pocahontas!!!” Trump began using the nickname “Pocahontas” for Warren several years ago over her claims that she had Native American ancestry.
