Trump Weighs NATO Withdrawal
Trump is set to speak at 9 p.m. Eastern Time today to share an update on the war. One of the topics that will be covered is his dissatisfaction with NATO. “They haven’t been friends when we needed them,” he said. “We’ve never asked them for much … it’s a one-way street.”
Trump is strongly considering pulling out of the global alliance formed in 1949. He has criticized NATO in recent days for its lack of involvement in the U.S.-Iran war and for not helping reopen the strait, which handles around 20% of global oil flows.
